When you think of a typical meat and cheese tray, what comes to mind?
Sliced deli meats. A variety of cheeses. And crackers. Lots of crackers.
What if you could make your boring old meat and cheese platter into something your guests will rave about? You can have all this – and more – when you make your own homemade salami crackers.
What Are Salami Crackers?
Salami crackers are basically just fried slices of salami. When they’re pan-fried, they crisp up and become cracker-like.
If you’re having a hard time imagining what a salami cracker tastes like, think about pepperoni slices on top of a pizza. When the pizza gets just a bit overdone and the pepperoni on top crisps up – yeah. That’s it. It’s delicious.
The Cost
I bought a package of Genoa salami from ALDI for $2.99. This is the starting point for a great appetizer spread, like the one pictured below.
